Holy shitballs! I watched Transformers over the weekend and it was much better than I anticipated it to be. The action scenes were uber-cool, but what really surprised me was the comedy. This movie was just as funny as Knocked Up. I never knew that the Autobots could be so wacky.
In my ongoing effort to lose at least three (3) subscribers per week, I will offer my insight into the world of college football. It isn’t as entertaining as writing about God, Sarah, music, movies, love, and belly button lint, but that shit wasn’t too insightful, anyway. Besides, was it really that entertaining? I suspect not.
What the hell is going on in the SEC? Kentucky’s loss to Florida complicated things even further, and technically everyone is in contention in the SEC East. I'm looking for Florida to take care of things next week at the Cocktail Party, and they'll be the last one standing in the East when the dust settles at the end of the season. It doesn't matter, though, because LSU is the class of the conference.
In the ACC, it looks like it’s going to come down to Boston College or Virginia Tech. Boston College hasn’t really been tested this season, and now they're cursed with the No.2 ranking in the nation. We’ll know if they’re for real or not after this week’s showdown in hostile Lane Stadium in Blacksburg. Don’t look now, but what about Virginia?
Kansas is still undefeated. They haven't felt this good (about football) in Lawrence in a long time, and I'm looking at them defeating Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. Sadly, they may go undefeated and not play in the national championship game.
South Florida was brought down to Earth with their loss to Rutgers. This put the Big East up for grabs again. The State University of New Jersey is starting to look like the upstart team that made them the darlings of Division I last year. Is anyone buying into Connecticut? I’m not…yet. But who knows? UConn is currently in first place in the conference and the Huskies could end up with an Orange Bowl berth.
Say what you say about UCLA, but they know how to play against their division rivals. The kids from Westwood are feeling pretty good about themselves after their win over California, and those nerds from Berkeley will have to deal with another disappointing season. The Pac-10 title will come down to UCLA and USC.
Michigan is doing a great job salvaging their season, and they’re on track for another Big Ten title showdown with Ohio State. The game is in Ann Arbor this year, and the Wolverines are due for a win against their archrival.
Finally, Hawaii is doing all it can to get a BCS berth, but the computer rankings are doing all they can to keep them out. The computers hate Hawaii, but I think the pollsters will give the Rainbow Warriors enough points to earn them an automatic mid-major at-large bid.
Projections:
Rose Bowl Game: UCLA vs. Michigan
Sugar Bowl: Hawaii vs. Florida
Fiesta Bowl: Arizona State vs. Kansas
Orange Bowl: Ohio State vs. Rutgers
National Championship Game: LSU vs. Boston College
(I will be in south Florida this week for a conference. I spent four miserable years of my life there and I can't believe I'm going back to that toilet. Oh, the hu-manatee!!
)

Still humanatee there? IKinda like Southeast Asia a couple months ago, though I got used to it when I went there.
Transformers has a bunch of clever lines in it, its dialogue is way too good for an action flick.
Btw, if you write about Sarah, I might too. Yes it's weird that, similar to you, I also have an ongoing story involving this name.
well hopefully you can at least get piss drunk while you're there.
i was thinking about renting transformers and now i think i will ...... i skimmed over the boring parts in your blog Try to have a decent time in florida It could be worse You could be here in WI
did you get to watch T with a girl???? haha! thank you SOOOOOOO much for the football lesson. seriously, i'm much more interested in really learning the game. it does seem interesting. i gave J two pinches and a little punch for his ridiculous comment. 'you don't need to know.' honestly. crucifiable?? obviously he has a death wish.
Substituting Florida and Rutgers in for the teams that they beat seemed predictable, so I'm glad you chose to make a statement by moving Ohio St into Oklahoma's slot. I agree with bumping the Sooners based on last weekend's performance, too bad it has to be the Buckeyes who move up.
I still find your Boston College and UCLA projections most objectionable, although the final three minutes of last night's game may end up being the difference between Heisman winner Tebow/McFadden or Heisman to Matt Ryan. I don't like Arizona St and Kansas either, but I wouldn't mind it. Gotta love the surprise unbeatens.
