see relatedTHE PASSION OF THE PEACE
What is peace?
Peace is silence. Stillness. Contentness.
To have inner peace is to be in harmony with one’s self. It means to accept one’s self…to understand one’s self… to be complacent. But what good is complacency to the human spirit? To be content with your life is the biggest sin you can commit against your soul. Complacency has long been the downfall of mankind.
Of course, no one wants war, violence, or disharmony. But no one really wants peace, either. It’s in our human nature to be restless. It’s in our nature to desire…to push the envelope. As Ayn Rand said, man’s ego is the fountainhead of human progress. No matter how much people sue for peace, history has told us that mankind never wants it. The human race has never achieved anything through inner peace. You didn’t get your job by being at peace with yourself. You never fell in love by being at peace with yourself…
…and you never had any epiphanies by being at peace with yourself.
Everything that you’ve ever achieved was because of your restless desire to justify your existence.
Silence. Stillness. Those who pursue peace will only find true peace in death. Peace is for the weak.
In life, there is no peace. There is only passion.
